What Vehicles are Covered?
Every vehicle intended primarily for use and operation on the public highways
which is self-propelled; provided, however, that the term "motor
vehicle" shall not apply to motor homes or to any motor vehicle having
a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,000 pounds or
more.
Leases are not covered.
What is a Lemon?
Three unsuccessful repairs or 30 calendar days out of service of 24 months
or 24,000 miles, whichever is shorter, provided one repair attempt or
one day out of service is within 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever
is shorter.
Notice Requirement
Certified mail notice to manufacturer. Dealer has 14 days to repair the
car after receiving notification via certified mail of buyer's intent
to pursue protection.
Alabama does not have a State-run arbitration program.
